Birkenau to Buna

Above is prisoners walking to Buna.
Buna was work camp not a death camp. At this camp they worked for small rations of soup, bread and butter. In Buna the prisoners were not beaten for something so small that they did. They had to do something very wrong to be beaten. The doctors in Buna weren’t as harsh as the ones in Birkenau. There was a time when Elie was suppose to go to the dentist to get his gold cap taken off his tooth. Elie said he didn’t feel good so the doctor let him come back another time and that kept happening. Eventually the doctor was sent to prison. Buna was overall a better camp for the prisoners. People were treated better in Buna.

The French women was living in France and she left because if they had found her they would have taken her anyway. She was passed as an Ayran but Elie thought she looked Jewish. It was said that she was a forced labor inmate, but she chose to go there. She was scared to admit that she was German to anyone, because she was scared of what they did to all the Jews. Buna wasn’t an extermination camp so she knew if she kept a low profile she wouldn’t be noticed.

There could be many reason to why it took so long for him to march to Buna. There was hundreds of Jews marching so therefore that might take them a little longer. The Jews weren’t very strong so it would take them longer to walk that distance. Also the weather was very cold and snowy. The trip from Birkenau to Buna was approximately six miles. When you travel through other camps it takes longer to get through.

I agree Buna was a much better camp. YES. I also agree with number two. She went to the camp to protect herself from getting sent to an exteermination or death camps, so she made the safer choice and went to a concentration camp. And once again I agree, we really don't know the conditions of the tome that they marched. Good Post.!.!

Nice job. Your group said a lot of the same things that my group did. I agree with what you said about Buna and how it was just work and that they weren't treated as harshly as in other camps. Good job.

Sorry Extermination and Time

I like how you stated that the woman knew if she kept a low profile that she wouldn't be noticed. It shows how smart and logical she was. It had to be extremely scary for her to leave her home and go to a place that was full of potential death if she was found out.

I agree with your whole post. I like how you mentioned everything little thing on number three. You could of also added that the Nazis had to keep them all under control and make sure none of them tried escaping. But you pretty much summed that up by saying that they weren't very strong. Good job!

Great job. All your answers are good. I like how you really got into it and thought about the questions. Your details used are really good. I really like how you said that Buna was a labor camp so it was much safer to be there.

Good job! I liked all of your answers especially number two because I feel like you put yourself in her shoes and understood what might have been going through her mind to lead to her decision.

I've been saying this a lot lately so don't feel bad but number three is right in the book. It says that the German officers were in no hurry to get there so they made frequent stops in the towns along the way to flirt with the German girls. But other than that I agree with the rest of your post.

Elie didn't think she looked Jewish. He thought she was German and only spoke German. And she wanted everyone to think she was German, but I think you just got your words crossed up there. I don't remember the book ever saying it was very cold and snowy. I thought it was a fairly nice day. You answer to number one was good.

Now this is political?

Also, on number three there weren't hundreds of people marching, there was only about 100. It wasn't very cold and snowy, it wasn't snowing. Read the end of chapter three, that's where it talks about this.

I'm really sad that he didn't because Sarah Palin is pretty much, well AWESOME!!!lol, I guess we'll just have to see what happens

Well hundreds and is like a hundred is what we meant. And to missouri single season strikeout king I just read that part and it did just say he thought she was German so sorry on my part. And to Jordan they were marching slowly because of the German girls but there had to be other reasons to why they walked to slowly. The officers were probably trying to find ways to make them weaker.
