How?

Should Ellie Forgive the Nazi’s for what they had done? There are two kinds of forgiveness; there is forgiveness from god and forgiveness from human. Ellie should forgive the Nazi’s for what they did. When you do not forgive someone for what they have done you live with all that hate in your life. If Ellie would choose to not forgive them he would go though being angry and not enjoying the rest of his life that he has left. The reason why he should is so he does not live with the hate of the Nazi’s forever and is able to spend the rest of his life with happy thoughts and remembering the good things in life. If he doesn’t forgive no matter what good things or events come up he will still have a lot of anger and stress and he has already gone though enough of that in his life. It will not be easy for him to forgive but in order for the remaining part of his life to be happy and joyful without remembering what he had gone though and getting upset and mad about it throughout the rest of his life. Elie should forgive the Nazi’s so he can move on with the rest of his life.

I agree with you on some of you post. I do think that he could forgive them but he will still have a hard time and remembering what they did to him. He will move on but how can you forgive something so big? I know its your thought on this and I do agree with you at some of it but I still have my own thoughts about it. Good Job!

I agree with Nikki you can forgive but when you think of what they did. do you truly forgive because you can't say your not mad when your thinking about that.

Mike, you have a good post. I do think he could forgive them but in my post i said he shouldn't. How could he enjoy the rest of his life after what the Nazi did to him? But over all good post.

I agree, he should forgive to make himself happier. It would almost be harder to not forgive them. Why would you want to be mad at someone forever, yeah they hurt him badly but theres no use in staying mad forever. It would be really hard, but in the end it would just be easier for him to move on and stop thinking of the past. Forgive them, but never forget what happened.

I agree with Snicks. Most of your post makes sense, but even If Elie did forgive the Nazi's, that doesn't mean all of his hate, anger, and stress would just magically disappear or something. It would take time. But other than that, I agree with your post, and good job on your spelling and grammar, I didn't have a hard time reading yours like I did reading most of the other guys' posts in our class.

I don't think he is going to ever forget what happened to him. He can say he forgives them and really mean it, but that doesn't mean he is not going to get upset about it. Can you really blame the guy? You have to put yourself in his shoes...which is really difficult to do since none of us has had to go through something so horrific. But even if he forgives, it still lives in him. It is part of who he is now, and its never going to just disappear.

i agree that Elie should forgive that no one wants to live through full of hatred making you a bitter person. Sure it would take a long time to do but wouldnt it all be worth it in the end? Everyone deserves a second chance.

I agree with you, he should forgive them. Even if he does, no man or woman would be able to forget something that happened like that. It would help ease the pain, no completly take it out of him. Good post though.

This is very powerful. You are so right. I agree with you totally when you say that he should forgive the Nazis so he can move on. He should remember what it was like but not let that guide his life. So as for what you said, I definitely agree.

Good job. Forgiveness is important for your own body and soul, to move on with life and be happy. Remember the good times and forget the bad. Great Post!

I agree with your whole post. Elie will not be able to have good memories unless he moves on by forgiving the Nazis. It will take him some time to work up to forgiving them. He can not let his life revolve around the Holocaust and the Nazis. It is a part of him, not his whole world.

I like this post it has a good flow and is well written. The only part I have a problem with is when you say "..but in order to for the remaining part of his life to be happy and joyful without remembering what he had gone through and gettign upset and mad about it through the rest of his life." I do not think that forgivness can make you happy and joyful, if that bad stuff happened to you there is no way you could ever forget it, no matter how hard you tired. If you can not forget it then the bad memories will always be able to make you mad and upset.
