Forgiving is Life
Elie went through "hell" in his passed experience in the Holocaust, should he forgive was and still is the real question. In my opinion, yes it was a horrible event that made history, but I think he should forgive what happened. To me, God would want everyone to be happy, although it was a bad time and there are second chances that should be given in the world out there. What the Nazis did to millions of people was wrong in every way, but it is all over with and we can only learn from the past. If you think about the Holocaust and learn about every event that took place in it and open your eyes a bit, you would realize that it could happen to anybody, at anytime, at anyplace. I believe that Elie should forgive what happened, he made it through the nightmare he never dreamed of and is now telling his stories to billions of people. He is changing the lives of many humans and we learn from it all. I know I have. So to complete this post I do believe that Elie should forgive what happened to him, it can happen to anyone!

Ok...yes it can happen to anyone, but does that mean we should forgive them too? Everyone knows of the Holocaust, so anyone else who commits genocide is basically just following in Hitler's foot steps. They know what they are doing is wrong, and it is absolutely intentional( I mean they aren't killing millions of people on accident). I just can't see the reasoning behind forgiving someone who does something like that. But it is a well written post. Good job.
i agree he does need to forgive them god would want him to and also he needs to for himself to move on with his life good post
For all who believe in god, doesn't the bible say something about "an eye for an eye, tooth for tooth"?
I agree with you but I also agree with Natasha. I don't understand how people could just forgive someone like that for what they did. I agree how Natasha said "They know what they are doing is wrong, and it is absolutely intentional( I mean they aren't killing millions of people on accident)." That sentence there is true, they weren't just killing people on accident, they were killing them for real. I like your post, it was good and I like how you explain your opinion well. Good Job!
Yes Natasha, I do agree with what you have to say! But there are second chances out there. You can change who you are I believe. Yes, it was wrong and if it happened to you, you probably wouldn't forgive. But I would try. I know that is stupid to say, but I would try and find a way to forgive. That's what God I think would want.
My personal opinion is that he should not forgive the Nazis. But you do make a good point God would want him to forgive the Nazis and it would be the right thing to do. Although it would be tough and take a while for me to even think about forgiving them. Good job.
I completely agree. That is what God would of wanted. That's all I have to touch on about this post. Great job!
Why wouldn't you forgive? Why would you actually want to keep all those angry feelings suppressed? I agree with your post. The past is the past, and the only thing you can do is move forward. There is no point to dwell in the past. The Nazis were killing people intentionally, based on an idea, Natasha is right. However, that is just simply because everyone is human. Everyone makes mistakes.
I agree with your post. I also know it would take alot of time. In my opinion over time it needs to happen. Forgiveness is key to happiness. Living a life full of hatred is hard to think about. I also know living in the time it would be different. We should have it in our hearts to forgive them, by saying this I know it would be a very long hard process. I totally agree with your post. Keep up all the good work.
i agree with you that he should agree that god would want him to forgive everyone deserves a second chance.
I love your post. I agree with every word you said. I think they should forgive? What else can you do to release all of the hate inside of you? Nothing, the only thing you could ever do is to forgive the ones who hurt you the most. Great post!
To Katrinalogan and Elizabeth thank you for the nice comment about my post. I do agree with Natasha about some of the things she had to comment about, but thanks!!! :D
Awesome post! I have to say this is one of the best post I have read. You really went into depth about everything. What happened happened and there is no reason to dwell on it when you can not change the past. Also your last sentence what I got from it is that horrible things can happen to anyone at anytime. It does not have to be the Holocaust it can be other things.
you're welcome :)
I agree with you when you say "it could happen to anyone", but the fact of the matter is it happened to him and he lost eveything in his life that had any kind of value to him. But also when you say that it makes it sound like it was a complete accident that could not have been avoided, when it could have been avoided in every way possible.
