Forgiveness

Elie should forgive because everyone will eventually forgive some of the people who had done some terrible things to the people or did something that had changed their life. If people did not forgive then there would be a bunch of hate in the world today. If there were to be a bunch of hate then nobody would like anyone or anything that they do. But forgiveness has a whole different perspective on how people look at the world as far as forgiving someone for doing something and everyone has room for forgiveness in their hearts but some choose not to take advantage of that room and use it for what they are supposed to be using it for. The room in your heart for forgiveness is there but some people choose not to use it. When people choose not to use forgiveness then it’s their own fault that they don’t forgive anyone in the world. So Elie should forgive people that has done anything bad to him and his family even though he may not like them. If Elie does not forgive anyone then he will not be able to forgive at all. But anyone can forgive and forget what people do.

Some of what you said was a little redundant and didn't really make sense. But in your last sentence when you say, "Anyone can forgive and forget what people do." I don't think that he is ever going to forget that this happened to him. I think it would be just a tiny bit difficult to forget that you were a part of this mass murder. I don't think I would want to forget...in a way I would want to keep it with me. I mean this isn't a situation that people just forget and move away from in time.

Uhm, i really agree with Natasha. It was really hard for me to read this without getting lost and confused. The only part that I grasped was the last sentence, where you said "But anyone can forgive and forget what people do." In this case we are talking about the Holocaust, and I think you will find that most people will disagree with you that the Holocaust can just be forgiven and forgotten. It was a huge tragedy that happened to over 6 million people and we are hoping that it never gets forgotten.

Yeah he should forgive people. Not people that ruin his childhood and kill his family, you act like it would easy if someone came to your home and killed your family would you forgive them? Your not looking at it from there side.

I agree with this post. It did kind of confuse me because you went all over the place with your sentences but I see where you're coming from. You put a lot of thought into this and I agree. There is one thing that I don't agree with. I don't agree with the last sentence. I agree that anyone can forgive but there is no way that they could forget the hell that the Nazis put them through. There is no way. But other than that it was a good post.

Yes Elie should forgive i completely agree. Your right if no one forgave the nazis the world would be full of hate and bitterness and no one wants to live through life like that. Second chances should be given should they not?

I think your post made complete sense!! But, i don't think he would ever be able to forget what happened, but forgiving sure would help ease the pain. Great job!

I disagree with the last sentence, like Natasha. There is no way you could forget all the awful things you have seen. I do agree with you in that if people did not forgive, that there would be alot of hate in the world. That is exactly right. I believe that is the whole purpose of forgiveness.

I am with these guys on the whole you cannot forget being a part of a mass murder. There is no way, or reason for that matter, to forget what happened. Forgetting is why history repeats itself. You should never forget, but you should move on and to move on you must forgive. Its not easy to forgive but its something you must do.

I agree with you. It is like what Mr. Neuburger says, " Do not act like two year olds." You know how if one two year old hits another one the one who got hit will hit that person back. Elie needs to forgive so he is not like a two year old out to get revenge. But he should never forget these things that happened to him. It will always be a little part of his life.

I do not agree with your last sentence, if someone goes through such horrific events I do not think they will ever be able to forget them even if they can forgive. Not unless they get post tramatic stress syndrom where their brain just shuts everything out.
