NO!!!!! There is no way I believe that Elie should forgive those ruthless Nazis. Personally I believe that they should have the chance to show the Nazis what it was like. To go through the same horrable events, the torture, and the living hell they all had to face. I don't even understand the want to forgive anybody for the haneous crimes comitted against the Jews. I'm sorry Elie but I can't see it. I can understand the "go along to get along" but there has to be a line drawn somewhere. The fact that the Nazis didnt even try to apologize in any way is just stupid, their "better than everybody" mentality kept them from showing the slightest bit of weakness. True it might not have worked but it would at least showed they gave a crap. I wasn't there but I still say no way to any kind of forgiveness to any one of the Nazis.

There is just that one little thing I disagree with also. I don't think they should put the Nazis through the same thing. That would be like stepping down to their level and do something like that to other people. They should be punished but in a different way. It would be hard to forgive someone that has put you through so much pain, but I just think it would be harder to not forgive. But other that than good job on supporting your opinion.
Donnie I know that its our opinion, but if it was sick to what the Nazis did to the Jews and which it was, why would the Jews do it to the Nazis. Would it make them feel better, would the Jews feel better like nothing happened? To me when I stay mad at a person nothing feels right, but then when I forgive, I don't know its like some kind of relief, it makes me feel better.
That is true, but the Nazis should have had to have some punishment.
Ya but not that way.
I completely agree with your post. Theres no way you can forgive the Nazis after all they put them through. That is just ridiculous to even think about forgiving them. Great post way to not follow everyone s opinions.
Wow. I do not agree at all. That is the most immature way to approach this. You're saying that you would get back at them and do what they did to millions of people. That is not going to solve anything. You're talking about killing more people on top of who has already been killed. I'm sorry but this is just really childish. Forgiveness is a necessity. Forgiving them would be the grown up way to approach this. That's all I have to say.
In my OPINION, I believe the Nazi's race took alot of heat for what Hitler and his assitants did. We living the in present really don't know what it was like, but I think many Nazi's were forced into doing such horrible acts. It would be hard to put your life on the line to go against Hitler, just to know your going to die, and you won't save anyone. Losing your life for nothing is what it comes down to. In these situations its really hard to say what you would really do, because in all reality being there in the heat of everything wouold be totally different.
One thing I know for sure is that I do not agree with the sentence when you said that the Jews should have the chance to put them through the same things. This is an absurd statement. Nothing would get accomplished, and we would be having this same discussion in reverse order in ten years. That absolutly unimaginable to think about.
I think that karma will give the Nazis what they deserve for what they did to the Jews. But in order for the Jews to have good karma they should forgive them not seek revenge. That will not help them in any way. You should always want to do the right thing and the right thing is to forgive people no matter what they have done to you. The Jews just need to follow God.
I agree with you on most of the post except the part about getting back at them. If you lower yourself to their level then you are showing them you are no better than they were. You are showing them that everyone is capable of this kind of madness when in fact most of would never be able to go through with the act of killing a single person.
Revenge isn't always the answer. The only thing that comes from revenge is hatred and chaos. So if Elie forgave he would be able get rid of all that anger and hatred and move on.
